The Algarve 7s team is delighted to have the Rugby Clube da Lousã Sevens team attending the tournament for the first time. The history of rugby in the center of the country is strongly associated with the history of RC da Lousã.
Founded in 1973 the club has never looked back and has since been one of the main promoters of the sport of rugby in Portugal, fielding many teams in yoith to senior rugby having seen some of their best players graduating and representing Portugal at International level. The 2019 Algarve 7s ambassador Waisali Serevi, is one of the players to have represented RC da Lousã. In fact Serevi, probably the best sevens player ever, played and won the Madrid Sevens for Rugby Club da Lousã back in 2022. Lousã is a rugby town and we are very happy to see that beautiful town coming down to the sun to spread the magic.
